- Rebuilt Salvage
- A former salvage vehicle that was rebuilt and retitled. The title reads Rebuilt Salvage with a qualifier such as Damaged or Loss Unknown, and the brand stays on every later title.
Questions buyers ask
What is a rebuilt title?
It’s a brand a state puts on the title of a salvage vehicle once it has been repaired and has passed any inspection the state requires. The rules differ by state, so check with the state’s DMV.
How can I tell whether an inspection certificate is attached?
The Score says whether the seller attached one, and only a Rebuilt brand with its certificate attached can score 80 or more. Ask to see it before you pay.
What does the Score on each listing mean?
It rates the listing out of 100 from its answers on the brand, damage, condition and paperwork, with the reasons shown. We don’t inspect vehicles, so it’s only a guide.
How do I buy one of these vehicles?
Create a free account and offer above or below the asking price. If the seller accepts, you pay an introduction fee and the seller pays a success fee. Once both fees are paid, you swap contact details and arrange payment and pickup. DNF never handles the money for the vehicle.
